Are There Any Other Fees?
The only time you will have extra fees is if we utilize a Special Process Server and they have to make an additional attempt you get your Spouse served.
You can hire us to do the second 1/2 of the case which will include additional fees.
Further, the court is likely to require the Parties to attend mediation. Each Party will pay a separate fee to the mediator.
If you have children, the Court will require you to take a Parent Education Class and there will be a small fee paid to the Court or directly to the program provider.
What if my Spouse files first?
No worries. We convert the representation to an Answer Only representation. If your Spouse has already filed, you should use this link instead:
Do I get support if I'm stuck?
In order to keep this Limited Scope Representation affordable, we do not include response to question based emails beyond the onboarding process or offer additional consultations beyond your Review and Sign Appointment unless you upgrade to Total Legal Coverage (hourly billing) or book a paid consultation. The good news is that we provide tons of materials to help along your journey for free to help you get your questions answered on demand (24/7).
How do I know if this works for me?
Quick Start Divorce works for everyone with one exception- if you do have children born AFTER your marriage and the Husband is NOT the father, you need to schedule a Welcome Call (you need 2 cases) .
What is the location for this?
Our office is located in the Northland of Kansas City near Oak Park High School. We can, however, do a virtual Review and Sign if needed.
Is this virtual or in-person?
This is meant to be a bit of a hybrid... the only time you are coming into the office is for one appointment (if possible). We can accomodate a virtual Review and Sign Appointment.
What Happens AFTER the Quick Start?
The Quick Start is meant to help you get the first 1/2 of your case finished. This helps you so you don't have to come up with as much money to get your case on file.
Once the 30 days has run and you are allowed to move forward with the divorce, you have the following options:
- Mediation: The Parties can attend mediation with a neutral party who can help you resolve the division of assets and custody issues. If you have an agreement, you can hire us for Fast Finish to do the second 1/2 of your case and draft the agreement and the Judgment of Dissolution of Marriage.
- Default: If your Spouse does not file any documents with the court or hire an attorney, you can hire us for Fast Finish where we file a Motion For Default and draft your Judgment of Dissolution of Marriage so you can finish your divorce fast and without any interference from your Spouse.
- TLC: If your Spouse hires an attorney, you have issues that need to be resolved quickly, or you need extra protection for your child/children, you can hire us for Total Legal Coverage (TLC) so we represent you the entire way through your case. This will be billed out hourly.
How Fast Will My Case Be Filed?
Your case is not filed until ALL fees are paid in full. Fees are earned when the documents are prepared for you. However, if we do not schedule a Review and Sign Appointment within 30 days after you finish your homework, we will refund you 1/2 of your fee!

- Review and Sign Appointment: You will have one appointment to come in and sign your papers. This is the perfect opportunity to get your questions answered.
- File Your Case: Our firm takes care of all the filing of the case for you.
- Serve Spouse: We help you make sure your Spouse is officially "served" with a copy of the paperwork by either having them sign an Affidavit, using a Private Process Server, or by Publication. Costs Included in fee.
Start the 30 Day Clock Running: Once your Spouse is served, you must wait 30 days before you get in front of the Judge for a final hearing (most courts take longer).- Filing Fee: Included
